I just had my meeting with Jason and he posed me this question: how can I push beyond personal boundaries of the viewers with how it's presented to get the childlike aspect of my work even stronger? (I definitely worded that wrong). I've already thought about this question when I was planning my thesis. I really want my pieces to force interaction and not just be paper/ canvas hanging on the wall. If it is, it needs to have an interactive element and be intentional as to why it's just hanging on the wall. I want to mix media and experiment like I did as a kid, but make it look more refined like an adult made it. An adult with a child’s brain and creativity.
My goals for today are to reflect more on my conversation with Jason as well as pull some paper doll prints that I really like.

I feel like I've just worked a day in the mines with no food or water and just heard the canary sing.
I pulled 7 prints today and did a ton of experimenting with how I want to ink up my plates. There were some successes and some were fails, but now I know what I'm going for. In previous collage photo etching prints, I invented a new way of ink applications, so I continued with that. I used a variety of mediums to get this look (tack reducer, burnt plate oil, and turpentine). I think the imagery in my work fits this style perfectly and I still have room to add my colored pencils and possibly embroidery. I want them to be inked up semi simply so I can go crazy with mixed media. So this week I'll be pulling some similar to the blue and green ones.
